One person has died and another is in a critical condition following reports of an active shooter at an airport in the United States.
The Elko Regional Airport in Nevada, United States, was shut down due to an active shooter situation on Monday, 13 April, as per reports.
Lieutenant Shane Daz from the Elko Police Department stated that police were alerted about an active shooter at 12.30pm local time on Monday afternoon. Lieutenant Daz confirmed one person was found dead upon arrival.
KSL TV is reporting that the deceased is a juvenile.
In a statement, the Elko Police Department said: “Police are investigating a crime scene at the Elko Airport. The airport is closed to all traffic at this time. We will update you when it is back open.”
An investigation into the incident is currently underway.
